Introduction

I have always had aquariums off and on since I was a kid. I live in northern Illinois were the tap water is very hard. Great for Africa cichlids but nothing elsa. When I first started with this 125 gal. tank I wanted to have South America fish this time. The first two months was bad. Wipe out after wipe out. So I decided to start talking to people and found out that my water was to hard. I decided to install a R.O. system in with a 35 gal. storage can for my tank water. After awhile I got trier of doing the firer man drill from my basement to tank two flights of stairs and I added a pump and hosing to my tank to make it easer for water changes. One smart move. Three of the fish are from 2006. Two other are from 2010. Haven't added any fish until this year 2014. I also have another tank but right now its shut down. Trying to decide what to do with it. Thinking saltwater. I had a saltwater tank years back but when I move from one town to another had a wipe out and never return to it.
